FAQs

What is craniosacral therapy?

Cranio-sacral therapy is a hands on approach that supports the nervous system and the body’s natural capacity for regulation and healing. Using light, sustained touch, it works with the rhythms of the brain, spine and connective tissues to ease strain and support resilience without force or manipulation.

About Antonia:

I’m a registered integrated craniosacral therapist (RCST) trained at The College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy, London. I work within the CSTA Code of Ethics and undertake regular supervision and ongoing professional development. My work is relational, trauma-sensitive and grounded in care, discretion, and attentiveness.

What does the treatment involve?

You remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on a treatment table. I use light, sustained touch at various points of the body - such as the head, spine, diaphragm, sacrum and feet. There’s no manipulation or force - only presence, safety, and deep respect for your body’s timing.

What might I feel during a treatment?

Each session is unique. Some people feel warmth, softening or emotional release. Others feel a deep sense of rest. Afterwards, you may feel lighter, clearer, or more grounded. Sometimes tiredness or emotion may surface - this is part of the body’s natural integration process.

Is your home clinic suitable for allergies or sensitivities?

My home clinic includes the gentle presence of Jasper, my very calm and affectionate cat, who may choose to settle quietly in the room during treatments. Many clients find his soft, steady presence grounding and soothing. If you prefer a cat-free session, or if you have allergies, please let me know in advance — I’m very happy to prepare the space accordingly so you can relax in comfort.

Who is craniosacral therapy for?

Craniosacral therapy is suitable for people of all ages. It is gentle, non-invasive, and can be supportive across many life stages and health contexts. It  may be used as a stand-alone approach or alongside physiotherapy, osteopathy, counselling or medical care.

Do you treat babies and children?

Craniosacral therapy is very helpful for babies and children. It supports sleep, digestion, settling after birth and developmental stages. Older children and teenagers may also benefit, particularly where stress, emotional load, or sensory overwhelm are present.

How many sessions do I need?

Every session is an opportunity to deepen - to let your system soften, release, and find a new balance. Some people feel a shift straight away, while for others it takes time to unwind more fully. I usually recommend beginning with three sessions, so you can experience the cumulative effect. From there, we review together. Many people choose to continue with regular sessions, finding that ongoing support helps them maintain ease and resilience.
